...I don't know much at all about blog analytics. Page views per day, returning visitors, and what pray tell are UNIQUE VISITORS?
But I have been able to decipher a little bit of understanding about Traffic Sources and Referring URL's. These are places/blogs/websites that direct the greatest number of viewers/lookers to your address on the World Wide Web. In the case of FayesSewingAdventure.blogspot.com, my top Referring URL's are Diary of a Sewing Fanatic and Stitches & Seams.
Like many others my blog was started as a means of journaling my sewing adventures, but what fun would that be without readership AND interaction. As a bonus, this interaction has created a valuable learning environment for me. Truthfully, I would not have gotten to my current skill level without: my Mother's prayers (yes, I struggled when I reentered the sewing arena) and; help from more advanced sewing bloggers like the two mentioned above.
What blogs are your top referring URL's???

Faye - I think Debbie's blog is one of the top referrals for a lot of us. She has an amazing blog roll that a lot of sewists follow! Thanks for the kind words!

ReplyDeleteCarolyn's blog has benefited so many of us!
DeleteHand's down, Carolyn's Diary of a Sewing Fanatic. Her's was the first sewing blog I stumbled on and I use her blog roll to catch up on what others are doing plus a few bookmarks of my own.
ReplyDeleteTheresa in Tucson
She was the first sewing blog for me too Theresa.
DeleteCarolyn'S! I recently did a giveaway on which I asked how folks followed me...one of the ladies even said she followed through Carolyn's blog! But Debbie's is not far behind.
ReplyDeleteExactly, and it such a great thing too!
DeleteThis is very interesting Faye and like you, I don't know much about blog analytics either! However, I just saw that my top referring URL's are Good Bye Valentino and Sunny Gal Studios! It's nice to know that others are actually reading our blogs no matter how many and who, there's something for everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis is all very interesting Myra, and it is very nice that people really enjoy reading our content.
DeleteInteresting! My top all-time referring URLs are Amanda's Adventures in Sewing, Stitches and Seams, and Male Pattern Boldness.
ReplyDeleteHow have you been doing Faye? Up to any sewing lately?
I am finding this all very interesting Kyle. I left you an Instagram message.
DeleteMy top referring URLs are Kyle's Vacuuming the Lawn, Debbie's Stitches and Seams, Peter's Male Pattern Boldness.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what determines all of this but it is interesting Tomasa.
DeleteThanks for the shout-out Faye. I think it's my 3-mile long blog roll. It sometimes makes me a little sad at the bottom when I see all those great bloggers who've gone dormant.
ReplyDeleteAlso, got your email and I'm working on it. :-)
