SUCH A SMALL COST TO PAY TO SUPPORT ANOTHER SEWING BLOGGER...

...I've been so busy with school starting that it's been hard to keep up with all things sewing.  Thankfully two of my buddies alerted me that Simplicity patterns were on sale this weekend just in time for the MimiGStyles pattern release.  How nice of Hancock Fabrics - 5 FOR 5!  That averages out to $1.07 per pattern including Georgia's sales tax.
I'm such a skirt person that you know this shapely color blocked skirt WILL BE MINE.  People will be saying "just who does she think she is?" (hahaha).  Will love the top (with a little length added), and the pants and cardi too.  This is just a wonderful wardrobe pattern overall!

Ahhhh the continual color blocking - in such a nice way though.  That contrasting color right at the hip curve will certainly help give me the illusion of the smaller waistline that I envision in my head - I think???  (another ha ha!)

Both patterns are sure to boost many an upcoming Fall wardrobe.  $2.14 is such a small cost to support another sewing blogger - VALUE PLUS! Especially since I'm already a PATTERNAHOLIC.  I'm so happy for MiMi and wish her continued success!

  1. Totally a pattern-holic.

I picked up the one with the cardigan because I need that cardigan. Well I went back the next day to get a pattern for a sewing friend and said, "what the heck" and picked up the dress pattern. Even if I never sew the dress...

    1. My sentiments exactly. I went in just intending on getting one of them and said what the heck, and like you picked up the other one too.

  4. I love how the skirt goes to the waist, and the pants go almost all the way to the waist. I think that's the best look for pears, which is what Mimi and I are!!
Very curious to see how the sizing is. Mimi wears all her garments close fitting, I wonder if Simplicity kept it all figure hugging or not. Will definitely buy at the next sale. (No Hancock in NJ!)

    1. I looked at the back of the envelope and think they did keep the close fit. Even though I like her styles, I don't think they'll be flattering on my curvacious and full bust. Ah well.

    2. Sorry no Hancock's in NJ. How close do you live to NYC and that magnificent garment district Kyle?

    3. Faye I live pretty darn close! 1hr 20 min on the bus! :)
Lynn, I saw that the patterns have negative ease which is quite exciting!!

  5. I think both of those will look good on you! Sadly, our Hancock's closed about 6 years back (due to embezzling, or so an employee told me, which wiped out the entire chain in the Northeast, or darn close to it), so I'll miss this wonderful pattern sale. Have fun! Maybe you'll find others you like, too!

  6. Gorgeous styles, but not for my straight figure! Enjoy your addiction to patterns - there are many worse ones!
