Great magazine. Used to be just pattern pictures and now its full of technique and articles on sewists around the country.
DeleteWhen I used to subscribe to McCall's when they had free patterns, yes I did get them. I have not purchased a Vogue magazine or subscribed to them ever. I guess if I did, I probably would. If you have the magazine, and it offers a free pattern, why would you not? Just curious, LOL!
ReplyDeleteNever have....with the postage, the J's sales were generally better.
ReplyDeleteYears ago (like 20) I religiously used that offer but it was before The fabric stores started to heavily discount patterns and Club BMV & Vogue Patterns were Internet based. I've seen the offer but no longer use it because buying them online during the sale is cheaper than using that offer IMHO.
ReplyDeleteLike Carolyn I used the offer years ago but now buy thru Club BMV. It is an excellent magazine. I even have a few saved magazines from 30 years ago which are such fun!
ReplyDeleteI think that your local fabric store has a better deal. Vogue Pattern has you pay for your first pattern (between $15 & $30) then your second and third pattern are free + $4.00 shipping. I know you can find them cheaper elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI don't subscribe, but if I'm in a store (which is often), I will flip through and if I see something that peaks my interest I will buy. What about you Ms. Faye?
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this one, but I never bothered with getting the free patterns from sewing magazines. I have quite a lot of patterns in my stash, and they tend to be the ones I chose due to the style/sizing etc, so don't usually feel the need for more, even when they are free... But that's just me.
ReplyDeleteI don't subscribe. I have in the past but I haven't found it worth the money.
ReplyDeleteLike Carolyn, I subscribed to Vogue Patterns and used the buy-two-get-one offer before the stores started selling them at deep discounts. But now there are more frugal options available. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLike some of the other comments, I used to subscribe many years ago and used that offer several times. But when the fabric stores started having pattern sales or the BMV option came about, it's more economical.
