SATURDAY MORNING CUTTING TABLE ROLL CALL...

... this is how it ALL begins, cutting table clutter that is,

yes, it doesn't happen all at once.  It can start just by placing a simple notebook on the table and then it seems to spread like a wild fire.  However, I am determined to keep this thing clear so cutting can begin.
THE PLAN TODAY:
  • choose one simple pattern (preferably one suitable for a knit).  Why a knit?, you might ask.   (a) Because USUALLY knits are my friend, (b) Because it's been so long since I've sewn - I'm not quite trusting my judgement on pattern/fabric choice, or my sewing skills for that matter.  Have you ever found yourself in this predicament?  I don't even know if I can sew anymore!!!
  • I WILL create something TODAY!
  • It's feels good to be back in the sewing room!  I'll let you know how it goes...

    2. I did cut, and I did sew but it's not finished. I forgot to stabilize my shoulder seams so I'll do a little un-sewing to put that in. The jury is still out on whether I can actually sew or not. I'll let you know soon!

  2. I'm positive you still know how to sew !

Mine table's not looking too bad. I'm working on my first quilt and it fills the whole thing. No room for anything else. However, it's pretty different from my regular sewing so getting everything set up for a good stitch is painful LOL

  4. Sewing is like riding a bike, you never forget! I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns it. The patter is on my maybe-buy list.

    1. That's the same thing my Mother says about sewing L. When away from it so long I make really simple mistakes though.

  5. Ohhh massive empathy wanging its way to you - i have major sewing room clutter and as for questioning skills, yep all the time. You've done the de-clutter steady steps and you'll have great wearable ( don't forget too, we sewers are incredibly critical of our own work so don't be too hard on yourself)

    1. Still undecided on the pattern. It gets so hot here during the summer - I think I'm going to leave it sleeveless.
