I was torn as to whether grade this pattern down a size and make an entirely new muslin; OR do as Lynelle suggest and just take the existing muslin in 3/4" in all seams. I opted to do the latter, and increased all seams by 3/4". The pants fit/feel so much better. Not too loose, too tight.
I took David Coffin's pants book to read at break today. There is so much valuable construction information in his book especially on front fly zippers and pockets. And I am so glad the book came with a DVD.
Now I need to decide on the fabric to use for my first project for the Month of Pants, because I'm cutting them out tonight.

They look nice. I would be happy if I had a pants pattern that fit as well as they do.
ReplyDeleteI laughed like a mad woman when I saw that picture of you on the phone. I thought I was the only person who did 23 things at one time!
ReplyDeleteThis pair does look better. I can't wait to see the first pair!
ReplyDeleteI see you got your pictures fixed.
ReplyDeleteThey are looking good. I give you a lot of credit! It is a lot of work, but looks like you have a winner.
ReplyDeleteThe fit looks great. How many pairs of pants are you going to try to make in December? You are putting the rest of us to shame!
ReplyDeleteThey look much better than the last one!
ReplyDeleteDon't you like when a plan comes together? Much better!
ReplyDeleteI've decided to control my phone instead of having it control me every time it rings. I give my attention to what I'm doing if I'm busy like teaching a class, doing homework with my kids and driving. And it never fails if I have to go to the restroom or have my toothbrush in my mouth it always rings :) It's hard to do but I am now in control!
That muslin is really looking great!
ReplyDeleteHello Faye! I've just newly arrived to your blog and had a look around. I think your pants will look great. It's always good to do a muslin...only I'm sometimes too lazy :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my blog. I really appreciated your input. Also, I saw a little picture of your Chanel jacket on the sidebar, but wasn't able to click on it or find the related post. Would love to have a closer look at it. It looks, well, so Chanel...
Nice! I'm going to have to checkout that pants book, too! (Glad you got the Vogue pattern, too! Can't wait to see what you come up with. )
ReplyDeletegreat look Faye!! By the way, you're a great "multitasker"...hehe..
ReplyDeleteI think you made the right chose - that is a good fit. Can't wait to see what you choose for the fabric.
