THANKS FOR BEARING WITH ME...

...through my pants phase.  I've actually complete 5 pair - with only one pair being questionable.  The questionable pair (made prior to making a second muslin) is wearable (worn twice).  But due to the fabric choice, and a few wrinkles that I couldn't get rid of, I don't think they'll have closet longevity.   I recently completed pairs 4 and 5 that I am very happy with.  After a mini meltdown about a serious flaw  found in my beautiful stretch cotton sateen print fabric
I took my friend's advice and folded it width-wise.  Thank goodness - I was just barely had enough room for my pant length.  Full meltdown averted!

So here's another door picture of my latest projects
Black Gaberdine and print Cotton Sateen
To be honest, I have to admit that I'm about SICK of making pants.  Oh, I'm mighty glad that I've finally got the fit right, but there is something within me that forces me to work on an original plan until it's completely done is starting to wear on me.  Do you think I might have a little OCDness???

    1. It's a good thing in some ways as it pushes me. Wish some of it would rub off on my desire to clean the house!

    1. I am feeling pretty good about self teaching myself fit. Oh I have to of course give credit to Threads and Peggie Sagers - they have been a real big help.

  6. I don't know about OCD ness (which is not quite the same as determination which I think you might suffer from - OCD ness would entail a lot more perfectionism that interferes with task completion, and you don't seem to have that problem at all!!) 5 pairs of pants, and I've only just finished my new pair. They will look great.

  13. Your pants are all beautiful...I think a little OCDness is good for us creative people, it drives us to step out of our comfort zones....Make as many pair as you need, I like looking at them.....LOL!

  16. I think I'm almost finished with this pants phase that began immediately at the close of the tops sewalong. If I didn't wear pants so much during the summer I would have stopped with pair #3. But finally being able to get a decent fit with this TNT pattern was really important to me. Maybe I'll do a fall pants sewalong.

  17. That stretch cotton sateen is gorgeous. Is it a current fabric? Greart job on the pants. I am not sewing a stitch for myself unless I lose some weight.

  18. My goodness, Faye, you have really out done yourself. All the pants are gorgeous. That floral sateen is in my stash. I believe I purchased from Joann Fabrics in 2010 or 2011. It is gorgeous and I need to go pull it out. I purchased it because of the stretch. I am impressed! Great Job!!!!!

  20. I was happy to see the lovely print sateen pants you made. I have been thinking about making myself a pair of pants in a print and wondering if they would be too young for me. Now thanks to your inspiration, and when I find the right print, I am going to go for it!
