Faye's Sewing Adventure: CURTAINS...

CURTAINS...

...FINALLY, got some sewing room curtains finished and up. This is the second pair I've made for this room - didn't like the first ones (pink and white stripes reminded me of a circus tent). Just wasn't the look I was going after.

This second pair are only temporary though, because now I've come up with the bright idea that the curtains for this room should match my picture...

- makes sense to me. Just got to find the right fabric....

9. Perfect Pants Pattern (February & March - experimented with Simplicity 2007 pants pattern) Made a muslin and 3 pairs of pants, 2 pair turned out good & 1 pair was not so good so they were discarded. Simplicity 2700 Navy Crepe - Altered pattern to accomodate straight waistband; also reduced width of legs - Project Successfull. (May) Experimented with Simplicity 2860 Pants pattern, made them in a Silver Gray gaberdine. Alltered pattern to use straight waistband. Fit is pretty good, but I like Simplicity 2700 fit much better. Going back to the 2700 pattern, but will try to alter the pockets for this pattern by morphing it into a 2 piece pocket rather than three pieces. I want my TNT pants pattern to be plain and simple. for a easy go to TNT pants pattern.

A TIME LINE OF SORTS...

December 4 - FINISHED
November 23 - Inserted sleeves in lining completing this section except for heming sleeves.
November 19-21 - Innerlined all lining pieces w/flannel and stitched lining together. Attached back yoke. Inserted shoulder pads.
November 13-14 - Set in sleeves, assembled collar and basted on.
November 11 - Re-topstitched all seams. Applied underlining/interfacing to sleeve pieces. Topstitched sleeve seams.
Week of November 1 - 7 - Topstitched all seams. Did not like my stitching so all topstitching was removed.
October 31 - Started coat assembly. Inserted pockets. Cut out lining pieces.
October 29-31 - Removed serged edges of back and front pieces in order to remove underlining and interfacing from seam allowance and restitched.
October 22 - 24 - Started pad stitching lapels.
October 20, 21 - Practiced Spanish Snap and Bound Button holes. Installed Boujd Button and regular button holes on coat fronts.
October 11&12 - Sewed up third muslin, decided again to stick with the very first one. FINALLY cut fashion shell fabric. Cut interfacing, and started tailoring coat front.
October 6&7 - Retraced pattern and cut third muslin.
October 5 - increased all seam allowances of coat by 1/4"
September 27-October 2 - Transferred fitting adjustment from muslin to pattern.
September 26 - Pre-treated shell fabric and lining (I'M READY TO CUT!!!!) Toyed with the idea of underlining the coat because the wool flannel is so light weight....but I don't know. Will think about it a little more today. I love Lady Grey, but I'm getting a little tired of her at the same time. I don't like it when projects take so long!
September 25 - Sewed Muslin #2 with 1" seam allowances. Muslin too large, made decision to go back to original muslin: made small swayback adjustment on center back pattern piece and center back lining piece.
September 19-20 - Re-traced muslin to increase seam allowances to 1"
Sept. 12- Sewed up Muslin #1
Sept. 11 - Cut out pattern , pressed and began tracing process
Seot. 10 - Purchased lining & buttons
Sept. 4 - Shell Fabric Arrived
Aug 30 - Pattern Arrived
