SEWING SPACES/SEWING ESSENTIALS/WHAT DO YOU LOVE...

...no, no, no!
I just don't want to be without my gravity feed steam iron.  I've gotten so use to it.  It's weight and the amount of steam it produces is so important to quality pressing that kicks my hand sewn garments up a notch - for real

Seriously, at first I was actually afraid of it.  I didn't know if I could be careful enough with all that steam.  It seemed a scary contraption, but we have gotten soooo use to each other.  It's kinda like my relationship with my pressure cooker (for lack of a better comparison) haha.

Gotta LOVE a good pressing tool...

  1. I love the magnetic bars that I use to hang all my shears. I see you have Kai scissors on your list. I have several pairs and just love them. They recently came out with a line of mauve handled serrated blade scissors which make cutting thin or slippery fabrics a breeze. Those are very reasonably priced which makes them even more attractive. They are great scissors and a great value for the money.

  2. I've been wanting one of those magnetic bars for a while and keep forgetting about it Allison. I'm gonna write it down on my "to get list" so it won't keep slipping my mind. Thanks for the reminder! YES, I am a KIA lover. I have used them as my main cutting shears for a number of years now. I tried to switch to Gingher but they are much too heavy for me.

  3. Hahah, I have exactly the same iron - and I love its teflon foot, too! And I wouldn't be loving to sew if not for it and my serger. <3.
