READER'S POLL. ..

...REALLY; right smack in the midst of Georgia's Dog Days of summer with no relief insight of temperatures falling under 100 degrees any time soon, all I can think about sewing are coats and/or jackets.

Photo compliments of Google Images

Nothing beats a great coat or jacket; they are my favorite items to sew.  I know, I know; even though I whine, and moan and complain all the way through its construction.  Often times when making a coat or jacket I put in much more work than is actually called for or required.     Consequently this         S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-S the job out contributing to all my whining and moaning and complaining.   In spite of it all, I really love the jacket/coat making process, adore my finished results and have learned so much with each every one that I've made.  How long will coats and jackets remain my favorite? - I don't know.  But we all know that favorite things are subject to change.

So I'm polling to ask:  What's your favorite item to sew???

    1. It was just an attractive Google Clipart Image Zynthia but I do like all three styles. All three are double-breasted designs with the center one being a classic trench but I think the other two could easily be frankenpatterned from a normal stash of patterns - don't you think???

  3. My favorite thing to sew is something that fits well and I don't have to make a lot of adjustments. Sigh only to dream.

  5. Coats are way up there for me as well! They are a pain during the process, but the payoff is so great.

  7. I love sewing dresses most of the year. Now that school is getting back in session I've had my eye on a classic trench coat. Two years ago, I sewed a wool cape in the middle of August, wool and Florida humidity, not a good combination, I sweated and fussed the whole time, but I love my wool cape!

  10. We share the same sewing jacket/coat love, Faye. It's my favorite and I don't think I could ever have enough of them. They give me much pleasure to sew and design. Like you, I go above and beyond what's specified but in the end I am always glad I did. Here's to happy coatmaking!!!

  11. I love making skirts! They really relax me. When I make somrthing more difficult, I'll start a TNT skirt to stay balanced through the process.
