PRAISING MY OWN HANDIWORK...

I usually don't make publicly tooting my own horn a habit, but as a friend once told me - "it's a poor frog that doesn't praise her own pond!". Today I wore my wool Ninot jacket made earlier this year. I do so much admiring and praising other peoples work but today I'm praising my own. I did such a marvelous tailoring job : welt pockets, bound button holes, padstitching, shoulder and back stays, as well as under lining. I love the jacket and am admiring my own handiwork.

Mmmmm maybe I should take this jacket a step further and really make this independent pattern pay for itself. Stay tuned  and see what unfolds...

  2. Gorgeous jacket and your back patting is well deserved. I am drooling over how beautifully the back of this jacket hangs and shows in the mirror. It's all so obviously beautifully made.

  8. Praise that pond! What a gorgeous jacket. I'm super impressed. I love the back. But I love the front too. I thought after I finish my jeans I would jump right into a coat (after all, I wanted to step up my game, right?), but oh the prices of wool! I think I'll wait since I've been making sooooo many sewing purchases lately! We'll see what I do next.

    1. Thank you so very much. The wool I used for the suit was purchased at a Thanksgiving sale last year - $24.99 on sale for $4.99 at the time so it was a REAL STEAL. I was able to hit the same Thanksgiving sale this year on wool, but the price did increase to $5.99 still a STEAL.

  10. Toot toot! Toot away Faye you did an amazing job with this jacket :) I honestly don't think we recognize and admire our own skills, abilities, and results anywhere near as much as we should. Sometimes we're our own worst critiques lol.
