PLAN: scheme, design, way of doing things.
It's taken me some time to get it together, but in the scheme of things, I do love it when a plan comes together. It's all about my attempt to break the slump I've been in. I've concluded that because of:
- my lack of planning,
- my trying to do too many things at once, coupled with
- my sewing room disorder
That being said, I'm ready to unveil my little "snap back scheme":
A 3 Piece MINI WARDROBE CAPSULE
Two knit tops with one pair coordinating TNT pants.
Simple, yes I know, but it will give me two outfits that can be added to later - this is just a little jump start. Sometimes a big plan is just too much for me to handle. It not only overwhelms, but at times gives me a good case of sewing paralysis. I mentally cannot handle coordinating six, nine or twelve fabrics and patterns right now. But, I've been able to manage three fabrics and patterns. I had to go back to an old adage that I use to lean on, that being "you CAN eat an elephant - just take one bit at a time".
IT'S ALL IN THE BAG(S) |
Now to put the scheme in motion...
I know what you are feeling. I'll be back fron vacation next week. Hopefully I can get my own jumpstart going!
ReplyDeleteGreat scheme. Can't wait to see the 3 pieces completed.
ReplyDeleteThat must be my problem too- I never plan well, I do too many things all at once, and my sewing room is definitely not in order! Order in the room would probably be my best approach. I just don't know where to start on that!
I love that Vogue top - considering going to get it while on sale. I also love the zip lock baggie method of organizing. I have retreat coming up next month and need to start getting organized for that. Happy sewing - your 3 pieces will be fabulous together. g
ReplyDeletelooking good Faye, can't wait to see your new tops, I love the vogue cowl neck one
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your next projects! Especially since we have selected the same Simplicity pattern for a top! And, you've amazed me again by having cut it out already!
ReplyDeleteI'd be jealous, but I'm more excited to see you organize your projects in clear baggies like I do. I like the fabric you've selected, and look forward to seeing it completed! Happy Sewing...
Sometimes some easy knits are what is called for! I can't wait to see how the cowl neck top comes out. I've been eyeing that pattern.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great plan to me Faye!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have some real winners, love all your fabric choice. BTW you got all your pattern choices I just need your mailing address.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great plan. I would do well to follow your lead. I need new trousers for Autumn/Winter badly. I haven't sewn a stitch since July. I will probably start back into sewing by finishing some ufos.
ReplyDeleteThe first top looks great with the cowl neck. Is that a new Vogue pattern?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about trying to do too many things at once, that can often lead to nothing being done :) I like your plan.
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to develop a good plan. Sometimes it pays to reduce the goal and the stress. Can't wait to see the finished pieces!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really good plan! I need a plan, too; I'm floundering about with indecision here, partially due to the changing season, and partially due to our Thor. Thanks so much for offering your condolences; it means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteNice pattern choices! I like the idea of a teeny coordinated wardrobe. I can never stick with large plans.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great plan for getting you mojo on. Starting off with small projects helps.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! You'll get to wear them right away and that will get you motivated.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the results!
