I made view C which turned out to be a bit too ruchie for my taste so I cut them off to a regular length.
Have you made leggins yet? If so, what fabric did you use???
...for years February has been set aside as a special time to learn about and recognize accomplishments of African Americans and other peopl...
Not something I thought of-I'd better try them. I'm very much into comfort.
ReplyDeleteComfy clothes are so satisfying to make and wear! I've made a couple of pair of leggings. I used rayon/lycra for both, but I wouldn't recommend it, too loose. I plan to make my next pair out of cotton/lycra in a medium weight.
ReplyDeleteCute Faye! Like Shannon (MushyWear), I have made a few, and most of mine are out of Rayon Lycra which I like a lot! However, it may be to thin for most people's taste! I agree with Shannon that Cotton Spandex would be best.
ReplyDeleteLooking good Faye! I haven't tried making leggings although i practically wear them everyday esp with my dresses! In fact I haven't tried sewing pants or skirts yet too :D Something I will try to attempt this year definitely! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteGreat leggings Faye. When I finally get to grips with my serger I might have to give some a go (I already have a BurdaStyle.com download pattern in my stash) as in RTW I always find have to buy a UK 18-20 to fit my legs, but the rise is always to long, and the waist hips come out huge LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovin the leggings! It's always great to try something new, and it's even better when its a quick project. I've made them before and I used cotton/lycra jersey. They are so comfy for around the house wear. Plus, they look sleeker than sweats. I made a pair of "jeggings" once with some strange tencel, spandex blend from the stash. There was also a pair of velour, spandex leggings. Don't laugh, but the skinny Juicy Couture model looked really cute in them. They're warm and comfy, but I'm no skinny, Juicy Couture model, lol.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your next project! Thanks for taking the time to show us all you fun projects.
The legging look awesome.
ReplyDeleteI made this same version out of spandex and had the same problems! However, I love them and want to make more. I ended up cutting off 5 inches and they were still quite ruched at the bottom. I also made a large even though I should be and XL and still took them in by about 3 inches. They are still baggy around the knew area though.
ReplyDeleteRecently my daughter gave me a pair of leggings that were too big for her and I have fallen head over heels wearing them. They are so comfortable and you have prompted me to pull out that pattern, which I initially purchased for my niece.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a wild and crazy winter weather wise, hasn't it? Glad you have found a cozy outfit you like! Your leggins look good as they are, I think.
ReplyDeleteFaye, these leggings are great! I have to get around to this pattern...
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the leggings! I need to stop playing around with my pattern and go ahead and make me some. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Oooh fun! Love the fabric!
ReplyDeleteFaye, love those leggings. I guess I should put this @ the top of my list. I've purchased 2 pairs and love them. I did purchase this pattern in the fall. Your fit is great!!!
ReplyDeleteThese look great, Faye. I have been thinking about making leggings but some unknown reason they scare me! Silly isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting on fabric for a black pair right now. Where in the world did you find the faux denim knit. I've been looking for that since last Fall when I saw a RTW pair for $60!
