      1. Oh, what a challenge! I do love me a great summer dress! I'll be making several this summer I hope, because the weather for me, just a teeny bit north of you, is pretty darn hot already.

Unfortunately, I'll be out of town the majority of this challenge time, so I'll just have to watch from the sidelines. :(

Have fun! Can't wait to see what everyone makes!

      10. Cotton with a built in bra, sleeveless but must have straps to hold it up, not see through but flowey once it gets past my boobs, preferably white, but yellow or pink would do. And ruffles wouldn't hurt

      15. Faye - I just started working on a muslin for a summer dress in seersucker. If you think this qualifies (I probably wont start sewing the actual dress until next week), then I am in.

      25. OOh, I would love so much to join in, if it wasn't just about winter here now!! The problems of being in the opposite hemisphere...
but I will think about it anyway, if I may.

Thank you so much for your lovely remark about my dress!

      26. Hi Faye!
I'd love to play too! Personally, I prefer a short (knee length) summer dress, usually casual and in non-wrinkle prone fabric like a knit or a crinkled cotton.

I never posted my Bottoms Up Challenge pieces (sorry! now seems way too late to do so), but I hope that won't disqualify me from participating in the Summer Dress challenge :D!

      31. Faye, I don't know if I'll join but I will sure be watching. I'm still getting fitting issues resolved. I can't say what is my favorite summer dress. I haven't worn dresses in a minute but I have plenty of dress patterns

      32. Hi,
first time on your blog or me :) I'd like to join in this challenge, which will be a first for me too. I like to sew, but with for little kids (age 10 months to 8 years) that homeschool, I don't get as much time to sew as I'd like. But I recently bought a new sewing machine and I'm dying to give it a try. Only problem now is choosing just one pattern and fabric in my stash LOL

      36. Oh how fun! This is a perfect challenge as I was planning on making a summer dress soon, and the time frame is perfect; it ends just before my classes start (and my free time dwindles). I think the perfect dress is light (in both color and fabric) and swooshy and flowy. I'd love to participate! This will be a great come-back for my dormant blog, too...

I have a summer dress pattern on the cutting table but I'm prograstinating working on it. This might be just the punch I need. I would love to play along. :) g
