DAY 8 #BLOGLIKE CRAZY: ...LETTER TO MY AMAZING COAT PROJECT...

...DEAR MS. 2015 PLAID WINTER COAT:
it's 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening and I am finally able to call you a WRAP!  It's been real, for sure. Dreams of you actually started in September 2014 when I spotted some plaid coatspiration on someone else's blog.  Although at that time I was way to busy trying to bring your 2014 winter coat predecessor into being, visions of you remained in "the future projects to sew" file in my head.

I started thinking about you (making plans) w-a-y back during the dog days of summer:  selecting a pattern, choosing the plaid fabric, adding new books to my library and making sure all of the supplies needed to birth you were in place.  I guess I could call that period "nesting: for my winter coat project (ha ha ha).  Even though putting in so much time applying my nurturing couture hand-stitching caused me neck strain and a subsequent chiropractic bill, I still loved you.  Thoughts you would often tip across my mind while I was at work, and I even updated your "finish line lists" at lunch time.  You were actually becoming a part of me!

I love you Ms. 2015 Plaid Winter Coat even though you caused me to have a miniature come apart last Saturday (that only my Mother and 1 or 2 close friends know about) when I didn't meet my deadline.  With every stitch I'd wondered if this Georgia weather would ever change so I'd really get a chance to wear you.  With all the un-stitching, over interfacing, late nights and conversations where people would ask "are you finished yet?" - I think you're worth it!

So here's to us Ms. 2015 Plaid Winter Coat, may I wear you in health and enjoy you in every minute of it.  Here's hoping that every ounce of interfacing, underlining and padstitching enhances your life and structure for many years to come...
