BLOGLIKECRAZY 2016 DAY 12: Where Are They Now...

...last November was a month of firsts for my sewing adventure.  Kisha became my very first guest blogger during BLC2015.  You can read that post here (minus the photos - I'm still sad faced about that).  Kisha is found @Dress Making Debacles (which it is gorgeous I might add).  She is still banging out styles faster than I could ever keep up with.  Seriously, I think this lady produces more garments in a year than any other  sewist in blogland.  I'm always amazed at her well fitted garments AND her production.  How can she keep up this pace in the sewing room, work full-time and she has children???  Let's see what this Fabric Mart Fashionista is up to this year, shall we...

Have you learned or are you using any new sewing techniques this year?  If so, what?

KISHA:  I think the past year I've been focused more on defining my style. I'm sewing the same caliber of projects (e.g. no more or less difficult), but focusing more on mini wardrobe capsules and revamping my wardrobe.

No new techniques but I truly feel as if I have mastered the fly-front zipper. Actually, one new skill I have learned in the past year is zippered welts! So fun!

What’s are your MUST HAVE items to make for the Fall/Winter season?

KISHA:Well, we all know I live in the tundra and the key to surviving northern winters is layers! So I am all for lightweight but warm tops and cardigans (mmm, wool jersey!) and jackets. I also love to find fun and interesting 1 yard cuts of flannel to use for scarves. Also, I've really built up my collection of tights so I'm ready for new dresses!

What sewing pattern(s) are you most excited about right now?

KISHA:  To piggyback, there are a couple of new McCall's that I am so excited to sew up!! I am looking forward to a color blocked version of M7506 and to a boucle version of M7464! Lastly I must have one of the updated tie neck blouses and Simplicity 8216 is on my radar!!
Thanks Faye! Looking forward to the month!
