#BLOGLIKECRAZY 4: PATTERN/PROJECT DILEMMA...

...today I fought the battle of what to sew next - and lost.
It's a matter of too many pattern choices that make it so hard to make a decision on what to make next.  Do any of you suffer this type of dilemma?  If so, what helps you finally come to a conclusion???

  1. Then I fondle the fabric!! If that doesn't drive me to start something than I usually default to, "what color thread is in my serger?" Lol!!!

  2. When I'm stymied, I put the notebook containing pictures of my patterns on the table with the notebook containing swatches of stash and "shop" til the just right project presents itself.

  3. Too many patterns, to much fabric = to many visions and indecisiveness for me.

  4. Mostly I'll just think about a gap in my wardrobe - ie the other day I realized I only had one sweatshirt and in this increasingly COLD weather I do need more than one :) so I started to make a couple using the Toaster Sweater pattern which has worked out perfectly :)

    1. This is good advice Kathleen. I made two toaster sweaters earlier in the year. Our weather is so off and on. This week we've been in the high 80's and 90's.

  6. Yes! Once in a while there's too much inspiration/fabric/patterns to make a decision. I love sketching to help me put down my brain on paper.

  7. I definitely deal with this. I try to narrow down as much as possible according to what fabric I want to use, then if I haven't made up my mind, I take my final selections to my mom to choose lol

    1. This is actually a great tip on decision making processes Tasha. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I should text my Mom and get her input I'm sure she'd like to help.

  8. I deal with this too! I have loads of patterns and ideas, and it is sometimes hard to hone in on what I want. However, I usually pick something simple that will get me going and fill a wardrobe need. Once I get m mojo in swing, I usually find another thing to sew once I am finished with an easy project.
