IT IS SO MY SEASON....

....what can I say folks???  IT IS SO MY SEASON!  And since it is, I thought it was high time to wear one of my new fall dresses.  My sister Brenda agreed to be my photographer during my recent visit to Up State New York.  What a beautiful Fall Season up there!  The Fall foliage color palette was just starting to unfold.  It's been such a long time since I visited New York in the Fall.  I decided it was time to test drive my new Kay Unger color blocked dress, and the fit was superb!  I did find myself wishing that I'd gone ahead and inserted the invisible zipper in the back seam though - would have made on/off access just a little bit easier, especially since the dress has a white yoke.  Oh, well, that's what I get for cheating or short cutting with zippers.  Hind sight is so 20/20.

That day it was just a little bit too warm for that jacket, and the boots too, but oh well - "Tis the Season".  Pontederoma is soooo soft and almost wrinkle free.  I didn't even need to press it after it being folded in my suitcase - turned out that this was just the dress to take on my trip.   With it  being fully lined there's no need for a slip so what's not to love.  This dress is a winner as far as I'm concerned, and I felt soooo good wearing it....

  1. You look wonderful, Faye! Now if I ever find out that you were up in my neck of the Northern New York woods, well...........You just better show up for lunch! I am right on the border if that is where you were. It would be such fun to meet.

  4. It is soooo your season Faye and this dress looks fantastic on you! I'm yet to venture into making a colour blocked outfit but after seeing yours this is definitely something I'd love to try. Hope you've had a wonderful time in Up State New York. I'm currently holidaying on the Gold Coast (my home town) in Queensland and have had a blast catching up with family and friends, wining and dining, and fabric shopping (YEAH) and I'll admit I did an amazing job at it and will be bringing home a mighty fabric haul LOL.

  13. OMG! That just looks awesome on you - I really must grab this pattern and give it a go (with a zipper, thanks to your hint) We don't have a Autumn (Fall) season here in Brisbane, it is all over and done with in a matter of days. Rarely do we get to see the colours that you describe - it sounds beautiful ... J

  16. Ok this might be the dress I have to make next. :) I have the pattern and the black fabric, and I probably can use the cream colored ponte I have in stash....and I might be able to line it using some fabric I bought for another purpose....
Thanks for the warning about not removing the zipper. :)
    Happy Fall!

  20. This looks great on you, and love the boots. I competely understand about the boots and weather. I have about 15 pair, and I hardly get to wear them with the Texas weather. Think I may have this pattern too....will have to check my pattern stash. Pretty sad when I can't remember what I have...oh well senior memory kicking in!

    1. Thank you Diane. I know what you mean about remembering your patterns. Is one of your 15 pair cowgirl boots?

    2. You bet one of my pair of boots are cowgirl boots, red to be exact. The funny thing is I travel alot for my job, and was out of town on my birthday so decided to treat myself. Well this is a Texas girl, and where did I end up buying cowgirl boots....Jackson MS, go figure. But I love them.

    1. Thank you so much. Girl those Elmira folks are styling it like no body's business! My sisters are real clothes horses too. We will just have to plan an Elmira meetup. Do you know of any fabric shopping resources in the vicinity short of going to the city? Joann's in Big Flats or was it Horseheads had notta and I was so shocked!!!
