SOMETHING PRETTY THIS WAY COMES...

...all month long I had a hankering to join the Sew Much Talent's March Pajama Party but did not have any time for sewing.  There's jut nothing like pretty pajamas - is there?  Inspired by a set that Alethia made earlier this month, I finally managed to squeeze some sewing time into my overloaded March schedule.  Besides, a nice pair of pajamas or two would fill a gap in my night time wardrobe.  Bottom line, "I just wanted something pretty"!

I wanted something "girlie" so my sewing friend Cecil helped me pick this cabbage rose print jersey knit from Hancock's on Tuesday.  I used three patterns to come up with this robe, cami, and shorts set   (Oop McCall's 5472, oop Butterick 5044 and the infamous Sammy Cami from Iconic Patterns).
Made for sweater knits but worked well for the robe. View B was just the look I was going for.

A woven pattern but I used a knit and went down a size and didn't need the pockets.

Now priced at $2.00 - can't blame her for that. The best cami pattern on the market IMHO.  This was my second time making it and the fit is fab.  My friend Ebony hand held my application of fold over elastic used for the neckline binding and shoulder straps.  I'm still a little timid in using FOE, but she's a champ at it.  After making this one with her assistance, I think I have it down pat now.  I need soooo many camies in different colors so this pattern will be getting lots of use this spring/summer season.
Made it in the nick of  time with this entry for the Pajama party that ended March 31st.  Now it's time to really get down to business with my spring/summer wardrobe plans...
