... I really can't believe that it's been a month since my last post. Hope you haven't forgotten all about me! Truth is... I was a little sick for about 3 weeks and then, I got stuck. Yes, stuck! Stuck in the process of trying to perfect a pants pattern. Well, after 3 muslins, I do have a wearable pair of pants. Am I 100% satisfied? Nope, but I really do think it has something to do with my fabric choice so I will keep trying.
In the meantime, it's now September and just a few days away from the official fall equinox. Traditional fall colors have started dancing around in my head (like forest green, eggplant and mustard just to name a few); as well as new styles and designs (such as ruffles, culottes, sweaters and of course pants - oh my). On top of all that it's also National Sewing Month with loads of celebrations, contests and challenges in and around blogland to commemorate the craft that we all love so much. So I thought I'd peek in to add my 2 cents worth to the festivities. Today Terry's Fabric Company from the UK challenged me with a fun "Quiz" to test my sewing knowledge. The quiz was a little tricky but I did manage to do quite well with it. If you would like to give it a try, the Quiz can be found by following this link.
Be sure to let me know how well you did with it, I'll bet you score 15 out of 15!!!!

Faye - your pants are amazing! You have a great fit in the back and I'm so glad that you're feeling better. BTW, that quiz is shady...seriously you change a needle when it's broken? Ummmm NO!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Carolyn! Yeah, that needle question got me too.
DeleteThese look fantastic Faye. I know pants are tricky but it's great that you kept with it.

ReplyDeleteThank you Regina!
DeleteI don't think any of us are every 100% satisfied with our work, especially when it's a first attempt to create a forever pattern. That said, your pants look good to me, and I love that top! Late summer colors! It's really pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Marjie!
DeleteHey Ms. Faye! Glad you are feeling better. Love this whole ensemble. Love how you taped into that cream color in the top to make the pants...perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri!

I'm glad you are feeling better. And yes, hiding away while working on pants is the only way to go. And you have pulled off a great looking pair of pants. Great colour as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah!
DeleteI think the pants fit pretty good based on your photos above, especially the back. Different fabrics do change the fit each time unfortunately but as long as you are in the ballpark, that's good!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tomasa. Making pants is such a science!
