SOMETHING PRETTY THIS WAY COMES pt. 2...

...I love pretty things, especially pretty night and lounging wear.  Additionally, I am always in need of some decent pretty night wear.  I did make a great summer set a couple of years ago (here) that I still love.  This time I decided to jump on the Instagram #sewyourview December pajama challenge and I'm so glad I did.

Notched collar, piping, cuffs on the top and pj bottoms
I choose a jersey knit curved the shirt hems at the back and front because I prefer a curved hem opposed to a square shape.  I eliminated the bottom shirt pockets and added my own pipped breast pocket.  I also eliminated the pants pockets because I didn't figure I'd be using those.

I'm totally in love with this pair and do plan to make this pattern again.

  1. I absolutely love your version Ms. Faye!! The piping is so cute, too! Did you find it challenging to apply? I tried piping a neckline before, and it did not come out the way I wanted, lol!

    1. Thank you so much Vanessa. About the piping, it was a challenge until then I remembered that I had recently purchased the Madam Sew machine foot set. I had never used a piping foot before but it made installing the piping a breeze.

  4. Pretty fabric, and I'm with you: what's the point in pockets in your pajamas, unless you think you should have your ID on you when you're sleepwalking? ;-)

I'm looking for a new nightshirt, but that's a project for another week...

  5. Lovely jammies and comfy too. The pocket is for your phone when you are lounging around having that 2nd cup of coffee. Some people have to have their phone on them at all times.
